Photograph of the Diamond Jubilee message sent to Queen Victoria by her British subjects living in Samoa. Photographed by an unknown photographer in 1897
The message reads:--- "To Her Majesty Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India, etc. etc. etc.
We your Majesty's loyal and dutiful subjects now residing in the Kingdom of Samoa join to the fullest extent in the universal rejoicings at the completion of sixty years of a reign matchless in duration, splendour, progress and civilization, and humbly trust that you may long be spared to guide a united people inspired by the high example of your Majesty's life and filled with loyalty to the throne and with patriotic devotion to the Empire.
