Phyllis Mary Godber doing the dishes. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber circa 1911. This image is a film copy negative taken from the print in Godber Album Vol 110, p141 (PA1-q-103), with the inscription "Helping Mother with the dishes". Dated from juxtaposition with other images in Godber's album.
"Phyllis, the daughter of Laura and Percy Godber (the photographer) was born on 12 December 1903. She married Cecil Hartwig and they had two sons, Colin and Norman. Percy Godber took many photographs of his work (he was a fitter and turner for the Railways Department) and of the leisure activities of his family. However, even in his extensive collection, photographic records of housework are unusual." (Information taken from caption used in "Darling, I'm home!" display).
Exhibited in 'Darling, I'm Home!' exhibition at the National Library of New Zealand, 1 June - 5 July 1999.
