Description

There are six frames; in the first five frames various shoppers strolling past a fish shop stop and express their disgust at the sight of a large dripping squid hanging from a hook in the window. Next a news item states that a huge Japanese squid fleet has been seen off our coast and is of great concern. The last frame shows the population screaming its indignation at the Japanese who grin from their squidboat. In the last corner a bearded man (a self-portrait by Eric Heath) tucks into squid with cries of delight. Refers to New Zealanders' general attitude at the time that squid was not worth eating.
