New Zealand teacher, novelist and writer. Born Masterton. MA in English and French, Victoria University College 1936. Married Maurice Archibald Nolan (d 1991) 1940. Secondary teacher at various schools 1958-1972. Auckland Branch Chair of New Zealand Women Writers' Society 1986-1987. Member of PEN. Wrote fiction and local histories (NZ Who's who, 1998). Daughter of W H Dickens; living in Lower Hutt in 1950. Lived in Havelock North. Presented material to ATL in 1962 from the Havelock North Road Board.
