Pohe, John, 1915-1944, Pohe, Johnny, 1915-1944

Son of Te Whatarangi Ropoama Pohe and Honoria Maraea Pohe, of Taihape, Auckland. Was a pilot in the Royal New Zealand Air Force (Service No 402894) during World War 2, and was shot down 22/23 September 1941. Died during the great escape Stalag Luft III on 31 March 1944, aged 29 years.
