Troup, George Alexander (Sir), 1863-1941

Draughtsman, architect, community worker, mayor. He arrived in Dunedin in 1884, moving to Wellington in 1888. Sir George Troup was Mayor of Wellington between 1927 and 1931. Early leader of St John's Presbyterian Church, Wellington, and joint founder of the Young Men's Bible Class Union. See DNZB (Vol 2, 1870-1900, p549)
