Third Governor General of New Zealand, 1924-1930 and husband of Lady Alice Fergusson (née Boyle). Eldest son of Sir James Fergusson (1832-1907), and father of Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson. (see An Encyclopaedia of NZ Vol 1, p 642)
