Journalist, lecturer, writer, representative `Times' London Service. Company director of film and theatre enterprises 1916-1938; 4 years vice president and acting president NZ Theatre Owners Association; involved with repertory theatre; president NZ PEN; contributor to English, American, Australian and NZ periodicals including the `Free lance' for 37 years as The Saint. Council member of the Wellington Savage Club in its annual report for 1928. On the general committee of the first NZ Authors' Week in 1935; foundation member of State Literary Fund Advisory Committee. Authority on thoroughbred horses and sheep. In 1940 joined Prime Minister's information section. See `Who's who in NZ' 1956.
