Forster, Johann Georg Adam, 1754-1794

German-born scientist and author, with James Cook on his second circumnavigation, so visited New Zealand in 1773. His account of the voyage was published in 1777. Son of Johann Reinhold Forster. Was later associated with Alexander von Humboldt, and became a supporter of the French revolution.
