Compositor, farmer, soldier, politician, historian. Lt Col Waite CMG, OBE, DSO was a farmer, parliamentarian and soldier. Born Dunedin; early farming interests; service in WWI winning DSO; MP for Clutha 1925-1931; member of Legislative Council 1934 until its dissolution; overseas commissioner of the National Patriotic Fund Board WWII; New Zealand Farmers' Union.
