Viticulturalist, British resident, farmer, politician, newspaper editor. British Resident in the Bay of Islands, 1833-1839. Son of John Busby; brother of George and Alexander Busby. Witness the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6 February 1840 at Waitangi.
