Cartoon shows prime minister Michael Joseph Savage driving a very large loaded vehicle called "Squandermania", with its sign reading "Eat, drink & be merry". Beside him ride the Minister of Finance Walter Nash and broadcaster Colin Scrimgeour speaking into a microphone. On the road ahead of them little cars are driving at speed trying to outrun the Labour vehicle. These little cars are labelled: Private enterprise, The Thrifty, and The Taxpayer.
