Shows the early Central Auckland Post Office building, with people walking past and standing outside, talking and reading mail. The building was located on a corner site in Princes Street
Likely to be a copy taken from the Illustrated London news wood engraving published on 13 August 1864. The only other ink and watercolour drawing by L B Temple in the Library's collection is also a probable copy from the ILN of December 1864, p 681, showing the Supreme Courthouse Wellington
Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - signed and dated in ink. Pencilled notes on verso.
