Description

Charles Tuarau, master carver at the National Museum, showing a group of Cook Islanders the meeting house Te Hau Ki Turanga. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer on the 9th of April 1976. Other people identified are: Margaret Hosking (next to Charles Tuarau), Meme Oti (in double breasted coat), Percy Henderson (behind Meme), Sonny Hosking (at the top smiling, behind Percy), Ota Joseph (behind two unidentified women in front), Rima [?], Mamia Tuhai Savage (in hat next to Rima) and Varani Hosking (top right).

Names identified by members of the Wellington Cook Islands community in 2014.
