Te Puna Interloan upgrade notice
Te Puna Interloan will have the following new features after the upgrade taking place 16 June 2017.
To help with BibSearch efficiency and speed, a new profile has been created where BibSearch is now searching over:
- Te Puna view on WorldCat (brings back New Zealand holdings only)
- Libraries Australia (brings back Australian holdings only)
The number of holdings for each is also displayed.
New features from VDX Version 9.1
BibSearch by location
You can now search for a title to see if it is held at a specific location. You will need to know the library’s OCLC symbol, which can be found in the library’s Directory of New Zealand Libraries entry.
Choose Code--Institution from the Field dropdown menu and put in the OCLC symbol:
Request history display
The request history (audit trail) used to be sorted in descending order (most recent first). However, this caused issues over some time zones. Request history will now be sorted by the running audit number. This means that they will now always appear in the historically correct order.
Previously, if a Lender changed the service type from Loan to Copy, the document upload option did not appear. This will now appear and the Lender will be able to continue to action the request as per a Copy.
Published searches are now sorted alphabetically by description in the work queue.
Currently you are able to enter a note that is over 2000 characters long, exceeding the 2000 character max length of the note field in the database. This causes VDX to reject the entire note. The system will now truncate the note to the first 2000 characters.
Manual addition of a location to the top of the rota
It is now possible to manually add a new location to the top of an existing rota rather than have to enter it at the bottom then shift it up through the list.
Move to top and Move to bottom actions have been added to the selected rota locations list.
New email alert options
There are two more staff email alert options:
- Renewal No
- Renewal Yes
These alerts let you know when a Lender has responded to your renewal request. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like these email alerts set up.
