You're invited to Open Data Day Wellington 2017!
Open Data Day is an annual celebration of open data all over the world. For the 5th time in history, groups around the globe will create local events on this day as they use open data in their communities. It is an opportunity to show the benefits of open data & encourage the adoption of open data policies in government, business and civil society.
Because Kiwis love our nature, our mini-hack day this year will be focussed on environmental data. For some ideas of what that might look like, check out the resources.
Who is it for?
No matter what your skill-sets or interests, this is an event where your input is valued; whether you have an idea for using open data, want to contribute to an interesting project, learn about how to work with or visualise data, or simply see what's happening! Citizens, public servants, designer, developers, artists, storytellers - all are welcome.
No matter your skillset or interests, we are encouraging you to foster opportunities to learn and help the global open data community grow.
All outputs created on the day will be open for everyone to use and re-use.
What to bring
This is a free event - all you need to bring is your own devices and your ideas! We'll provide space, food and WiFi.
