The Alexander Turnbull Library is offering our popular introductory oral history workshops in Auckland. These workshops are for people considering using oral history in their work, community or personal projects.
Tutors: Megan Hutching, freelance oral historian, and Lynette Shum, Oral History Adviser.
All equipment is provided and participants receive comprehensive resources.
Attendance at day one is a prerequisite. This is a two-day course, limited to 12 participants (first in first served!). You will need to bring your own lunch, or there are limited opportunities close by.
Day two: Recording seriously. This workshop will build on the introductory course, reviewing work completed and covering in more detail interview techniques, project planning and technical, ethical, and legal issues. Email Lynette.Shum@dia.govt.nz for more information.
Workshops elsewhere and Māori-English bilingual courses are also available. For the bilingual courses, please contact Taina Tangaere McGregor, the Oral History Adviser, Māori, on 04 462 3976.
