Sparkling with gold leaf

This goatskin bookbinding completed in 1907 was created by one of Alexander H. Turnbull's favoured London bookbinders.

The firm of Zaehnsdorf was known for its high-quality workmanship, and excelled in the retrospective binding popular in the 19th century.
